I have a really hard time understanding how discussion of darker topics and playing with fake blood can really be perceived as evil in this day and age. Is the site really that bad?

I’d only think of it as “evil” if the intent of it were to promote hatred or encourage physical harm towards someone or a group of people.

As it’s designed, I’d consider it to be similar to a horror film. And based on content, I can see it for what (I think) it is: a site that brings together many forms of art and entertainment from the area.

I think the content may not appeal to everyone – but that’s true for anything.

Best wishes and continue to do what you do. :)

I am going to answer this in the way that my very religious, baby sister described it. It is a website, that while on the gothic/dark side, promotes art and music and artists in all forms. It gives people who may not be “cookie-cutter” in those senses an opportunity to get their work out and noticed. She is not offended by the site at all, and in fact, would like to join as a Cannibelle this summer when she is off of work for the school year, since she lives close to 6 hours away from West Bend.

Extreme fundamentalist Christians consider anything that resembles horror to be Satanic and evil. I learned this during my quarter of a decade in Georgia. People who have a fundamentalist black and white vision of the world will fail to understand people can be interested in “dark” subjects without worshiping Satan. Of course a fundie’s comeback to this will be to quote the famous French poet Baudelaire, who said “the greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.” which basically states we DO worship Satan, we just don’t know any better. Of course once any of them realized a Frenchman said that, they’d declare that quote evil as well.

Someone on Facebook actually made a comment that the only reason she would not put her daughter in Stacy’s troop was something to the effect of Satan is sneaky and would use her to get to the children.

I am not a Satan worshiper after speaking briefly with Stacy the other night , I thought I would check this out for myself. I find nothing offensive satanic or other wise “EVIL”. The discussion of all subject’s is up to the person to perceive and interpret for one’s self, I enjoy a good horror movie and the still photo’s I have seen here are excellent. In final closing If someone was to choose to worship Satan that is their business and not mine or anyone else’s, because I Choose Not To is mine. Some peeps need to read the Constitution of this country as it was founded below is a statement from Thomas Jefferson,
Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his god, [the people, in the 1st Amendment,] declared that their legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of separation between church and state.

As one of the photographers for Wisconsin Sickness and the Cannibelles, I cannot understand why someone would think this is “evil.” Not your thing, sure, that I’d get. Weird – well, duh, none of us are exactly normal. However, I haven’t been to a sponsored event that has drug use, sacrificing anything, sex, or actual violence of any kind. There has been pretend violence, such as a bunch of scared women trying to keep the bloody hands of zombie guys from getting in the door. Wow, kind of like the movies.

Personally, I’m not into Ed Gein. Didn’t know who he was until almost a year after I moved here. Serial killers do not interest me. I work at a bookstore – and I can tell you there are plenty of books on serial killers, Ed Gein just one of the few. Just peruse the aisle of “True Crime” and take a look. Members of Wisconsin Sickness are not alone in their interest of serial killers, of wanting to understand HOW someone could be like that, do those sorts of things. “Interest in” has never meant “wants to be like” or “participate in like actions.” I wish some people could understand that.

So now a group is being persecuted by someone else’s standards. This is nothing new. Those of us associated with the particulars may feel like we’re being held to the light and we fall short of others’ expectations. This, too, is nothing new to us. We are individuals, and we will still stand. The others can go their own way, as we will continue to do.

I went over the website, and as someone that went to catholic school and believes in paranormal,..I think the site is just a exotic lifestyle choice…nothing evil…but since the girl scouts are not associated with the government,..they can do damn well what they please,….and as they do so….will be held to it. Pushing a good woman out will eventually be a tragedy,…..forcing them to keep Stacy in will “sweep the problem under the rug”…and id rather see it out in the open and know what we are really dealinng with,…that the admin. and management of the Girl Scouts are completely off their rocker and closed minded. Shocker there. What the hell is wrong with porn shops? ….Lady,…I think the problem is, is that you need to visit one more….

But I have to be honest,…there’s a hell of alot of people associated with alternative lifestyles that too are also closed minded and biased,..and are very negative about “the norm”…..and that has got to stop too. Hatred on either side is just a waste of energy,…to truely reverse the Girl Scouts management way of thinking there has to be an effort by all to show they have nothing to be scared of,…and quite the opposite is happening,..everyone that has disapproved of there decision has been angrily been ranting about how crazy they are. Not exactly the best way to take the lead.

I just heard about Stacy’s situation and this site through a FB post (from Vicki McKenna of all people who is supporting Stacy and I hope has her on her show) and I think it is nuts. I am a GS leader and I know the responsibility involved and how hard it is to get people to volunteer, much less good ones. My GS families know I’m not the typical soccer mom but they know they can trust me with their kids because they pay attention to troop activities. I am a bit of a dark-minded person–love horror, read bizarro fiction, listen to heavier music some times, fascinated by death and serial killers–although you may not think it looking at me. So maybe I’m not the best to judge what is evil, but I think this site is far from it. Evil is what happened to that poor girl in Madison this week. Evil is what happens behind closed doors by “normal” looking people. Evil is not people expressing themselves and putting it out there to share with others who get that it is all in fun and curiosity and positive entertainment.

It’s funny that these fundies do not realize what a Satanist actually is (I know the site isn’t Satanic, it just has dark, horror like themes). LeVeyan Satanism. These Christians do not understand most of what the bible entells. It’s more horrible than anything this site can come up with. Rape, murder, necrophilia, cannibalism, incest, etc. etc. all run rampant within the bible (as told in the biography of Ed Gein, when it tells how his mother would take the most grotesques parts of the bible and read them to a mentally disturbed child). They are ignorant, horribly so.

I heard about the site while hearing about Stacy’s dismissal from the Girl Scouts. I think it’s terrible that any organization would remove a leader WHO HAD DONE NOTHING WRONG from a volunteer position, simply because she is associated with a website that promotes something that they do not understand.

One of the things that stood out in her interview with WTMJ is that people do not understand the Ed Gein material on the website. Who didn’t grow up in Wisconsin hearing about Ed Gein? I knew more about Ed Gein from my father’s stories than anywhere else, and I grew up strict Baptist. People are fascinated with serial killers. Charlize Theron won an Oscar for her portrayal of a serial killer, yet somehow posting/viewing/reading material on the subject is now somehow taboo? It doesn’t make sense. I’d ask anyone who made a big deal about that type of information if they’d ever watched a documentary or movie on a serial killer, since there are tons of them, or if they’d watched footage of Jeffrey Dahmer’s arrest and trail when it was in the news. Of course they did.

I’m tired of the idea that if you aren’t “cookie cutter” (I like that phrase) and don’t completely fit in where society would like you to fit in, that somehow you are a bad person. That’s just so untrue. Most of the people I know are not “cookie cutter”, yet I wouldn’t mistrust them around children or feel that they would expose children to something inappropriate.

Received this email today:

Wow! You all can do what ever you want to but I have to agree with the Girl Scouts. I wouldn’t even want my children playing with your child. I feel as though I need to pray for your child. There is only one way that is thru Jesus. There is no other way you and your children will be in that dark place before and after death. The devil is real and so is Jesus. I’m sorry your lost to the devil. I want to get off of this awful web site. It makes me sad to think your childfen will grow up to be sick too. God be with you and your family! Find Jesus and save your family!

“According to Wayson, Hintz was removed from her leadership position was because she included links to Wisconsin Sickness, a website that goes against Girl Scout values, in emails about official Girl Scouts business.” -Huffingtonpost

…really? Laaaaaaaaame. Clearly, they were looking for an excuse to let Ms. Hintz go, which is… well, pretty lame. Stay classy, Girl Scouts.

Stacy and her husband are great people and this site has no bearing on the quality of people that they are. P.S. I enjoy the site as well. In fact, I ordered me and my husband our Zombie Porn shirts today, I can’t wait for them to arrive.
